My First In-Home Jamberry Party o1.18.16
Hello, everyone!! Today is such a beautiful day here in Anderson, SC! We have been blessed with some beautiful snow! We didn't get hit as much as New York is being hit right this moment (they are having a blizzard at this very moment)! But, no matter how much snow we got today, the kids definitely loved every moment of it!! I definitely enjoyed the snow with my kids today! Even though the picture that I'm about to share is not Jamberry-related, I figured I'd share it with all of you! These sweet faces are definitely my reasons as to why I decided to be a Jamberry Independent Consultant!!
Aren't they both the happiest kids you've ever seen?! Love them!
Now that I've share these with you, it's time to share my amazing experience during my first in-home Jamberry party!
Let me just say that during the whole week I was prepping for the party, I was filled with so much excitement, motivation, and nervousness!
My first in-home party was at my friend's co-worker's house here in Anderson. My friend had heard that the ladies at her job at a nursing home were all talking about Jamberry and how they wanted to try them out. My friend - her name is Ali, happily share with the group of OTs, PTs, and Speech Therapists that I was a Jamberry Independent Consultant. Kaylee (her co-worker and the Hostess for the party) offered to have the party at her place. Kaylee then sent me a text to schedule a perfect time and date for the party.
I made sure to follow-up on Kaylee in terms of how many people were coming and give her an idea of what the party would be like. Of course, I did not want to seem to pushy, so I made sure to contact her 2 or 3 times before the actual party date. The first time I contacted her consisted of us getting to know each other, setting up a date and time, and her giving me an estimate of how many people she was going to invite (she invited the whole group in the rehab department of the nursing home). The second time I contacted her consisted of her giving me an estimate on how many people had given her a definite "yes" and me sending her an email of an itinerary of what was going to take place during the party. Writing out an itinerary definitely helped me feel more organized, and gave my Hostess a good idea of how the party was going to be. The third time I contacted her consisted of her giving a final estimate of how many people were expected to come, along with any other questions she had for me.
The week before the party finally arrived. Thanks to my being organized, I was able to prevent myself from having a panic attack. To help me stay organized, I made a list of items that I needed for the party, whether it be stuff for the favors, and any other office supplies that I needed to purchase. I also made a list of stuff that I needed to print out to place inside my binder.
The binder that I made consisted of basic Jamberry information, such as:
- The Sisters' Story
- My "Why"
- Why Jamberry is Awesome (I shared how they collaborate with charities, as well as sharing all their awesome deals)
- Current holiday wraps (Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, & Easter)
- Jamberry Opportunity (I included information on being a Jamberry Independent Consultant & Hostess rewards)
The binder is not fat with information as I do not want to bombard potential customers with too much information. For the cover, I put together a collage of Jamberry nail wraps on some of my customers' hands, including my own.
I also printed out labels to place in the back of my Jamberry catalog as I have not had the chance to order my own business cards yet. My sweet daughter offered to place these labels in the back of the catalogs :)
The night of the party finally arrives! By this time, I was either calm and collected, or a bit of a nervous wreck LoL! I think I was bit more nervous than I expected because I almost forgot to bring my bin filled with of the stuff that I needed for the party! Thanks to my daughter who reminded my husband to get it before we got into my friend, Ali's car!
Ali and I arrived at the party about 30 minutes before the time of the party (6:00 was the start time). With the help of Ali and Kaylee, I was able to set up my little table and make it look presentable. I had asked Kaylee to provide a chair for me to sit on during the party as I knew I wouldn't be able to remain standing throughout the whole presentation.
As you can see, my setup is pretty simple yet pretty! I made sure I had all the basic Jamberry items on the table. The pictures frames were purchased from Dollar Tree for only $1.00 each. On the night before the party, I downloaded some Jamberry pictures from Flickr onto my iPad. These pictures were mostly wraps that couldn't be found on the catalog because they were new. I had the pictures set up as a slideshow and on repeat so that it plays during the party and that guests were able to see them. I had also asked Kaylee if I could connect to her WiFi so that guests can use the iPad to go online to my Jamberry page and browse through more wraps and other Jamberry products. My iPad definitely came in handy! I was even asked jokingly if the iPad came with the Starter Kit LoL!
While we waited for the guests to arrive, I did manage to snack on a couple of fruits and sip on some yummy Moscato wine! Kaylee and her sweet mom (who was one of the guests at the party) prepared a delicious array of food for the party - wish I could've taken a picture!
At about 6:30 most of the guests finally arrived. There were about 9-10 people, including Kaylee at the party. I'd say it was a pretty good number of guests for my first in-home party!
By 7:00, I was starting my Jamberry presentation! By the way, I did type myself up a little speech for the presentation so that I wouldn't forget any important detail!
I began to introduce myself to the ladies and welcomed them to the party. I also took the time to thank Kaylee for opening up her beautiful home and letting us have the party! Even though the ladies all knew each other (they work in the same department), I wanted to get to know each and every one of them; I did a roll call and went around the room. I had each guest say their name, where they were from, and anything interesting they wanted to share.
Before I started my actual Jamberry presentation, I decided to do some games with them. For this party, I had two games prepared. The first one was called the "What's In My Purse" game. I had found this idea on Pinterest. It is basically a list of items that you might find in your purse. Each item found is worth a certain point. Whoever has the most points in the end wins a prize. I have a link to the document, which is on PDF format. What's In My Purse Game . Feel free to use it!
The next game that I played with the guests was "Bingo." I put a little twist on this game. Instead of yelling out "Bingo" after being the first to have a straight line in any direction, I had the guest yell out "Bingo!" if all of their 5 numbers that they circled were called out. I made a collage of 25 nail wraps using the online app Picmonkey (www.picmonkey.com). I then wrote a number next to each nail wrap design. I also cut out little squares, wrote down 1-25 on each paper, and folded them in half. I placed these little folded papers in a square pink plastic bin that I had purchased from Dollar Tree (4 for $1.00). I gave each ladies time to take a look at their sheet and circle 5 wraps that they either found pretty or peaked their interest. I then pulled out a paper one by one until someone called "Bingo!" I actually had two winners for this game!
Below you will find the Bingo board that I created. Feel free to use it, or re-create your own by using different wraps!
Now, you guys might be wondering what the prizes were. Well, I had told my guests that ideally, winners would get an actual prize. But I do not have a big inventory or nail wraps to give out as prizes. So, instead, I cut out a piece of paper (the size of an index card) and made this my "Congratulations, You've Won A Free Sheet of Nail Wrap" prize card. I had the winner write down their name, address, phone number, and the nail wrap that they chose on the card. I also gave them a "receipt of your winning" paper for them to keep as they gave me back that information card.
After the games, I then went on with my presentation. I didn't time myself on this, but it didn't seem too long or too short. I had each guests participate by either raising their hands or sharing some stuff throughout the presentation. I made sure that I didn't use too many filler words, or didn't look down on my paper too much and used a lot of eye contact (I had the ASR student kicking in that night). By the end of the presentation, my guests had informed me that they loved everything I had to share about Jamberry. I knew from all awesome comments that I received that I did a pretty good job during my first ever in-home Jamberry party.
After the presentation, I did a demo on how to apply the Jamberry nail wraps. I had Kaylee volunteer as my demo girl. Instead of me doing it for her, I walked her and the guests on how to do it while she followed. I had several guests trying out the wraps as well. Some needed help on the whole filing thing, but, of course, I gladly offered my help!
By the end of the night, I had about 4-5 orders in!
Needless to say, I was quite proud of how my party went. The ladies were such an awesome group of people! They were all so much fun, and they all made me feel so comfortable and at ease! Kaylee was an amazing Hostess as well!
So, you may ask why in the world did I give you a play-by-play of my Jamberry party?? I figured that by reading this, this would help any of those who are doing their first in-home Jamberry party. I must admit, I was pretty darn nervous! I was afraid that I would forget things, leave out details, or stutter a lot. Let me just say that the key that I found that definitely helped me feel less nervous and feel more motivated is organization! Organized everything that you need for your party the minute you get that setup date! Make a list, print out any papers you may need, write out an itinerary for your party, and write out a speech. Doing all of this definitely helped my party go smoothly. Most importantly, have fun! Let yourself loose, and just freely share your love for Jamberry with your Hostess and your guests! Your motivation and your love for Jamberry will truly shine, and help guests see how amazing Jambery is!
I hope this ultimately long blog post help all of my readers out there!
Until next post!
